“Cindy, Here's a first. I have never sent a message to someone I didn't know on the Internet, but I simply had to write and say THANKS for your chili. My family all look to grandpa (that's me) to cook the chili for the family...there are now 22 of us. I watched your last challenge with Bobby Flay on the Food Network and decided to give your chili a try. I must admit I gulped when I saw the price but went ahead and ordered the 6 pack saying to myself, "Self, this better be the best chili you have ever tasted." When my order arrived I thought the recipe was way to simple but I followed it anyhow...except pressure cooking a chuck roast for the meat. Cindy, it was fabulous. I had to cut down a bit on the spice proportions since my family is a bit wimpie when it comes to heat...but man, I was the talk of the town...well at least of the family. They decided that I had discovered a new secret recipe and for a while I let them think that...but finally I had to admit that it was your spices that made the different. I even took a batch to our bible study dinner and after licking the pot clean they all wanted to know my "secret" recipe. You certainly have a winner and I wish I could afford a case, but Social Security won't let me write it off as a medical expense...though they should since it restores poor eyesight, cures arthritis, repairs poor hearing, breaks up kidney stones, replaces Viagra, stimulates brain cells, lifts fallen arches and extends life expectancy...all of which are terribly important for a 73 year old celebrating 55 years this July with his child bride. Keep up the good work and may fortune come your way. And by the way, you can tell anyone you want that I said so!!!! ”

“I've made this chili several times since seeing Cindy prepare it on a morning talk show and people always ask for the recipe. The flavor is amazing. This is a fantastic chili on it's own or as a base for adding what you personally like. To those who feel ingredients were left out of the recipe... authentic chili doesn't have all the extra beans and veggies and whatnot. It's simply meat and spices and enough liquid to bring it all together. This is, IN FACT, the type of recipe that wins the awards. If you're used to all the extras, simply use this recipe as a base and then add what you like. Either way, it's delicious.”

“This is a very good spice mix. I have used this recipe several times. I usually add a little more garlic to it since I love garlic, but this some of the best chili I've eaten. There is a possibility that some of your chili powders have extra salt in them, because I don't find this very salty, and I'm usually the 1st person to notice a salty dish. I do not care for "competition chili" or "no bean chili". I always was add plenty of kidney beans to my recipe. I have even added chickpeas and spinach to it on occasion just experiment. I also prefer ground beef to the cubes. Add the ground beef and a large can of beans to this and I think your family will love it.”
